Due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, it has become very much difficult for the Pineapple Farmers in Lakhipur to sell their products in the market because they produce Pineapples in huge numbers.
Save NorthEast Campaign on Wednesday, extended their help towards the Pineapple growers of the Lakhipur region with the assistance of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Northeastern Region Agriculture & Marketing Corporate LTD and the government of India. A total of 3 MT of Pineapples has been procured from the Lakhipur Pineapple farmer community. The consignment will be sold in markets of Nalbari and Guwahati.
In a conversation with The News Core, a member of 'Save NorthEast Campaign' Pritam Das informed that a total of 5 members from Team 'Save NorthEast Campaign' were present there and it was their first consignment. They assured that they will continue this service activity and they have also thanked Northeastern Region Agriculture & Marketing Corporate LTD for helping them in availing the necessary permissions.
Save NorthEast Campaign will soon start its waste-related activities at Silchar. They are planning to take a tour of all dump yards at Silchar and will work for waste segregation, due to which the entire Assam is struggling. Their second plan at Silchar is to create one common platform to talk about sustainable development.
